Mr.Ajuravi, u r the one more close to the Tata Sky Senior officials... so i want u to send an e-mail to them regarding packages and their pricing... and also suggest them not to go beyond Rs.300 which a common man cannot pay.and also suggest them all tamil channels and all other channels except Hindi for Rs.300 , as one one package, and all hindi channels and all other channels except tamil for Rs.300, as one package will surely benefit the people...Pls do it ASAP Or if u want me to draft an email, i d do the same... reply needed..:whistle: thanks in advance(also ask them to see Tatasky forum in this website)

Why don't you draft an e-mail to them asking them to have a Regional Boquet package where a Regional consumer (tamil) can choose his language, Keralite (the Malayalam) and so on... like the fashion followed by Dish TV and further if a consumer wants to choose more than one Regional Channel an extra amount to be paid for that particular channel?

In the dishtv forum, viewers are complaining about individual regional language bouquet uneconomical, and some prefer Tata Sky model of all regional languages in one bouquet. There are many who are conversant in more than one language.

1. There are people who are ready to pay more for more channels.2. There are people who are happy with lesser number of channels paying less.3. There are people who want individual regional bouquets.4. There are people who are multi lingual. For them subscribing multiple .regional bouquets will be costly than subscribing to all bouquets. And the list grows. It is difficult to have packages which will suit everyone. There will be flip side to everything. What is useful to some may not be useful to others. It is a difficult world we live in-Ravi

Ravi,

There is a solution! Give the south jumbo package for Rs.300/- and see the people voting in favour of Tata Sky. This will be suitable for all of them. I can bet with you on this issue.

I agree that everyone will like that. Everyone will be happy to get more channels without increasing the rates. But the problem is that TS is not getting the channels from SUN for free. I read in some other forum that TS is paying 55 rs to SUN while the customers are charged 50 rs (NOTE: in the south starter pack, it is charged 40rs). Note sure how true this fact is. If customers want the DTH players to take the cost on themselves, then the industry will not grow. This business is investment intensive and it takes long time to break even. Expecting TS to provide the SUN channels for free or discounted price is not fair.

Only one solution -a la carte basis.

Business will grow when they hike the cost after attracting enough customers to them. They will pass it on then.

I agree. Once the business is stabilised, they will recover. On the other hand if some players go on loss for a long period, they have to pull the shutter down resulting in loss of competition. That is what I am concerned for.

A-la-carte channels may not be a practical possibility. I have read in an interview by Dish TV CEO, saying that with more than million subscribers, having various choices is not viable. The software system does not seem to support it. I could not figure out what the exact problem is, but I can say there is a problem with it.
