How exactly technicians ended up in the technical and R&D department....

Pauuwa.

Their previous policy of disconnection every 6 hours was moronic enough, this current policy of 25-30 mb disconnections takes the cake.
Waiting for MTNL to fix this disconnection problem (if it is a problem and not by design) is like playing Russian Roulette.

loll @pauuwa

well they have admitted that its a problem and not by design, a problem which started due/after the server upgradation done on 1st december in between 12am-5am. the problem which they are still unable to fix or find a cause of this issue. hence they are not able to find a solution yet either.

I did ask any idea when it will be solved for which he didn't had an answer instead told me that this is happening for a lot of users and they have tried so many things however the issue still persists. from which i understood he can't commit a time frame because its been too long and hasn't been fixed yet. so i just hope it gets resolved soon like everyone else here does.

I'm wondering what exactly they do, or more importantly, how exactly technicians ended up in the technical and R&D department....

i guess random votes allowed them to enter R&D department. imagine a issue which occurred after an up-gradation, they know that this issue cropped up after the changes they made so can't they revert back the changes and check or some such thing....

I just observed something...if you keep your connection restricted to 512Kbps...like 60Kbps download speed..then your connection remains stable till 120MB or so....tried 4 different times...see if you guys can work it out!!

its a fail still net disconnects on 60kbps download speed as well just tried and got disconnected thrice at 26mb. as i said not just downloading volcano even if you browse for 25mb or even 30mb sometimes it gets disconnected. So speed limiting won't help...

it could also mean that your connection is getting better:D

But the only way u can limit download speed, which i know of, is by settings in IDM. These will apply only to IDM downloads. The problem will revert to the same,i.e disconnecting at around 20mb, if u stream online videos or don't download with IDM..

Just got a call from MTNL for a complaint which i had made a week ago :D.She asked me to check whether the problem still persists as their 'engineers' had okayed my number and supposedly there shouldn't be any further.I told her i checked just this morning and the problem was the same as ever. She coolly said that i could make another complaint and hung up :S.Anyways i still decided to check and found out that disconnections do still happen but now they occur after around every 30-45 MB.Though I can't say whether this is a sign of improvement or something else.

i think they released the bandwidth to 49mb now loll...mine got disconnected in 49mb now...will check more and post..one more thing i noticed the speed reduces after the initial burst of 30mb download in 200-300kbps download it goes down to 100kbps and then after few more mbs it gets disconnected. so i guess they are certainly fixing something

So now disconnections are happening at around 40-50 mb.Are we on a path to recovery? What abt others?

we might be on a path to redemption/recovery hopefully i guess...:)

i am going to keep the torrent on to see whether how the disconnection goes overnight
