I think there is some confusion. Let me clear you that HSDPA is getting actived for each and every number. In all operators 3G itself means HSDPA, but in MTNL they have separate terminology for 3G Services like Video Call, Mobile TV and for Mobile Broadband they have given it a separate term HSDPA.In Delhi MTNL, all old new number have HSDPA active by default, but in MTNL Mumbai, it was getting activated manually as per the previous pages of this thread. But since 30.07.11, HSDPA is getting activated by default.So, the speed you are getting is because of HSDPA Active. Don't get confused with Dialler Status. It many a times shows UMTS, 3G or HSDPA depending on the firmware of handset and cite address.

And the minimal speed difference there is, is perhaps because the faster one is tested on a Mumbai server which is closer to you (

Not sure if this has been posted for MTNL Mumbai 3g users , but the unlimited plans have been regularized for mumbai users now! (they had done this for delhi users earlier this month)
