no @sanke doesn't need any antenna lolz he lives in the network city has 2 network towers in the area, I am the one who needs it :p

Actually I have 7 towers in my area. (As reported by MDMA)

On topic: The MTNL 3G user experience is good since a week. No disconnections or dummy connections as evident from reduced rants in this thread.

sanke1On 2G, when data is connected, my number becomes unreachable to others. Seems to be happening all over Mumbai. Have you experienced something similar over the past week or so ?

I am always in 3G mode in my area so never experienced the problem. 4S receives better reception than average phones.
My 3G modem E353 does not have 2G.

Gee, I wasn't talking about reception. On 2G, when data is switched on, people calling me get the message that I am out of coverage area, despite the signal staying a constant -51dBm.So, you're say that you're never in a 2G only area, right ?

Sorry for offtopic...
I found a loophole in one of the 3G operators..
I'm not gonna comment more about this...

Lets say i'm getting 3G for free!! :D
Even i can't believe it what i'm saying... :D

Unless you can prove it, it didn't happen.

but is there any way to find whether there is a mtnl tower nearby , cause mtnl site does not give that info

as stated by some mem hopefully anant.del

check your signal strength if its below -80dBm than good

Other wise

i have a better suggestion

on a full moon night get a pair of binocular
search for nearby red light signal that points at frequency of 60/min
ya may be that belongs to Airtel

if they blinks at 50/min
Vodafone

at 40/min
Reliance

30/min
Idea

20/min
Aircel

and yes here comes our beloved Maha Nagar Telecom Limited as name suggest its limited

May hope fully you see that limited in your area or
if blinks at 1/min
then definately MTNL

P.s. Dont consider this Light as sign of Danger
and dont try to mess with them

Ahemm!!
I cannot share the trick here...I did share it to some of our members.. :)
They can confirm if possible...Theres no point in... me proving to you.. :)
I say what i get/do...Earlier some people used to deny the fact that "i get 6-7Mbps in BSNL Network"...Yet i proved them wrong.. :)
Its upto you to believe...
