I have been using MTNL for the last few months after using Tata Indicom for several years. So far I am fairly happy and it's been a far better experience than TI. Activating my Tata Indicom connection was a nightmare taking weeks and repeated phone calls. My MTNL connection was activated within days without any fuss. MTNL has also been far more reliable than Tata Indicom when it comes to downtime.

i'am a new MTNL user in Delhi. First 2 days it worked fine and after that i have been waiting for 10 days for it to be fixed.Nothing has happened.

MTNL no doubt provides provides very good consistent service atleast in my area( Borivali,Mumbai).But i have seen that in some areas it provides hopeless services due to which they had to migrate to other local ISP like cable net...But MTNLs negligence has proved as advantage for some and disadvantage for others.Disadvantages is bad speed, PPPOE goes off on its own etc..... But it happens for very few usersAdvantage in that some people are getting very high speeds at cheaper plans...Like one of my friends is getting download speeds of 550 KBps on the 495 unlimited combo plan.I had clearly seen his routers page showing dwspeed of around 6Mbps..

My friend's getting about 4 Mbps on his 340 Kbps plan for about 2 Months! It's ridiculous, he's paying Rs. 495/- per month and gets 300+ kBps :mad: download speeds and I pay 650 per month and get 60 kBps! :impissed:

what is the upload speed on their new triband 999 plan? It offers 1 MBps download speeds with unlimited data and NO Fair Usage policy, right? Is the upload speed very bad?

Also, is their wireless modem/router any good?

All plans have 256k upload, but they are offering additional upload speeds at some addition cost. See their tariff page for details.

@amish
This is what I see here Broadband

TriB UL data-512 Combo New* 1M 512 K Unlimited 999

That seems to suggest 512 K upload speeds. I was hoping for a little better upload speeds.

Can you give a link for the additional upload speeds plan you were talking about?? :)
