MTNL Broadband problems from a week in andheri?

is any1 facing triband problems from a week. in mumbai or in andheri?from last 1 week MTNL has gone down 3 to 4 times for 3-4 hrs a day here. yesterday went down at night and today its down right now as well.1504 doesnt work so i called 1500, lady said call 1504 but when i said its not working she gave local exchange number.then i got thru 1504 but operator said problem is in andheri exchange and on contacting andheri exchange person said its problem at prabhadevi server.here is transcript:first i asked, "is this mtnl"he said "yes"i said.."triband is down"he said .."kabse"i said... "half an hr"he said..."server down hoga"i said ..."1 week se aisa ho raha ho"he said..."prabhadevi pe problem hain 1504 call karo"i said... "1504 to ab lagta hi nahi"he said..."he said problem hoga is liye bandh kar diya hoga"then i said.."aaj solve ho jayega?"he said.. "ho to jana chahiye"then i hung up. everybody is playing table tennis and passing the ball to other person.this all happening right when i thought MTNL is rock stable and i can scrap tataindicom.kisiki buri nazar lagi hain!i think i need to go to that tantrik! LOL.----------------one more conversation with mtnl operatori called 1500 this time. lady picked up.i said .."triband down hain"she said.."yes problem hain, aap GM ko direct website se contact karo."i said... " 1 hafte se prob hain"she said.."ha aap GM ko direct contact karo. hum unko call karte hain to hum pe gussa karte hain ke public ka complain hume kyo dete ho"i didnt know what to answer. to pity on her or pity on myself!

Write a short description of your problem and FAX it to General Manager (Broadband) at 24367168 and then call at 24310645 to confirm that they received it.

Usually that gets things moving. if it does not, then try FAXing Executive Director (Mumbai) at 24372033

If that does not help..

Call 00144....... Pandit Ji will solve your problem

ok i managed to get to divisional engg in andheri and he said."hume pata nahi lekin suna hain ki prabhadevi main capacity upgrade chalu hain is liye problem de raha hain"so i asked.."but that doesnt mean aap sabka internet bandh kardo"so he said.. "details pata nahi aap prabhadevi internet division contact karo"and gave me no. then i contacted there..so some person said.. "andheri main technical problem hain aaj solve ho jayega"so i asked "kabhi hoga" so person said.. "ab tech. prob ka koi time main kaise batau? aaj ho jana chahiye"so keeping fingers crossed.------------------1 thing thats clear now that everything is controlled at prabhadevi and even servers are located at prabhadevi..and just for easyness named as BRAS-GRGN (goregaon). packets go to andheri exchange then go all the way to prabhadevi.so link betn andheri and prabhadevi is down or GRGN servers are being upgraded as internet of my friend in dadar is working.----------------------stupid MTNL ppl have downgraded my a/c to 512kbps up and down after this problem can other ppl confirm if thats the case with them too?else i am running after them!------weird g.dmt and adsl2+ both modulation have started to disconnect my linebut T1.413 which earlier was not working at all (ADSL LED didnt even glow), is now working (ADSL LED glows) and giving me stable connection.god knows what MTNL is upto

Today In Charkop Exchange area triband was down between aprox 10am to 7 pm.Could not get 1504 coz the number was ""unreachable-Please check the number u have dialed"Lady at 1500 said she 'heard' a problem,dont know when it will be up,Please call 1504

can u guys post ur speed from modem's ADSL status page and also modulation? thanks in advancebtw not just whole borivali but complete BRAS-GRGN server/line was down. not just today... its happening from abt a week.. precisely from saturday. line goes down randomly and doesnt come up for 4-5hrs

i think they're doing some major overhauling. This was a controlled downtime and not some unknown downtime.

I think the issue applies to all Exchanges from Goregaon to Dahisar

not just goregaon to dahisar.. atleast from vileparle to dahisarur SNR margin is very good.@maxcontrolled downtime? then why down it during office hrs and that too from 1 week? and in that case shudnt they send email to all users or printed advertisement? or atleast CC shud know abt this so called controlled downtime. and they shud have been able to tell us when it wud be up. even person from internet division prabhadevi cudnt tell me the time it will take.

Im from Mankhurd exchange area and here too the frequent diconnection.I think the connection is weak overall.I directly connected the cable without passing it through the spliter to the modem and voila !! :thumbsup: i got the connection back !!After few hours, if you try to connect it back to the spliter and check the connection, it could work again..for desperate times directly insert do not use inbetweens Like other ISPs MTNL never goes down completely but the speed becomes slow..hope the good ol..r&d works with you guys too :rofl:

well it was not connection/splitter problem.. it was completely down. anyway right now its rock stable again and all 4 ACs are reponding even this time in afternoon. so they do seem to have upgraded something. touchwood and hope it wont go down again atleast not more than half hr.
