Yes....as the Customer care said there is no need to activate HSDPA...it comes pre-activated now a days....!!
However you might wanna check your modem...??..Is it 3.6Mbps or 7.2Mbps capable...??
And did you report to the Customer care about your speed problems you are facing...??
Check another MTNL sim in your area....if its giving you proper speeds...!!
Check your SIM in another area to check whether you have been imposed with speed cap or something....!!
I'm using a micromax modem as well...so tell me the model no...!!
There is a software called MDMA(just
google it).....configure your connection with that software and post a screenshot...
The customer care told me that there is no speed cap. They say it could be due to network congestion because of too many people using 3G but I live in a student locality where 3G is not used much. Could be an issue with lack of a mobile tower in the vicinity. Will check at other spots in Delhi when I move around.
The modem I use is Micromax MMX 352G (upto 7.2 mpps) and there is an inbuilt profile called "MTNL-Delhi Internet" that I use to connect. The MDMA utility is not working for me. I connect but neither does it detect the device nor does it show any information.
