By the way 10 gbps is 10000 mbps and the speed displayed in the tariff table still shows 1 mbps @ 999 with 15 GB FUP.
Couple of questions:
[*] The FTTH will involve replacing existing copper lines to fiber? So then the lineman will have to change the wiring completely inside the house too? Is this why we are facing disconnection issues, since they are upgrading / increasing capacity?
[*] MTNL website has not been updated yet, so where did this tariffs actually appear? Not doubting anyone but any source of this info?
[*] Will this solve disconnection issues, since fiber lines have bigger capacity than copper lines?
[*]If this has bigger capacity than copper, why are they still offering 1 mbps. The most basic plan should have offered speeds of 10 mbps+ minimum. Too much to expect, MTNL? I guess, yes
The hilarious part is offering 1 mbps when your potential (advertised) speed is upto 10000 mbps. Unbelievable?
My only reason for sticking to MTNL is the lack of FUP. If FUP is introduced (which I am sure they will at some point), it's bye bye MTNL!!
Someone please clarify.
Hi,
Good observation,
[*]It will be a supplementary service to MTNL.
[*]No the site hasn't been updated yet

[*]Will it solve our
ADSL woes, no since both are different tech.
[*]10gbps is total network bandwidth of MTNL,its just a marketing gimmick.
[*]End user will get his share of 10GBps.
PS- I guess they have heard about Hayai Broadband founder in town, and want to impress him
MTNL also introduced NGCN (Next Generation Converged Network) in Mumbai. NGCN network is based on MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching) technology and offers enhanced
VPN (Virtual Private Network) services with connectivity speeds going upto 10 Gbps. This is provided over a High Performance secure network which can carry Voice, Data and Video traffic from the customer into a single converged IP network.
