MTNL Modem TKD with Belkin Router

Its working now ..i am posting this while i am connected thru my router (But it goes up and down. Is MTNL culprit for this ?)

Although i m not sure that this will continue to work or not....Since i tried this earlier (Before starting this thread) also and it was working ... the main reason for this thread was it works for a day and next day the router goes down and don't come up..I called Belkin support and they said the problem is double nating and i will experience such drop outs.

Then i have to remove the cables put back my modem and access the net...After a day or two again if i wud try the router it works fine..
Neways thanks to all of you guys ... Will update you if the problem persists ..!!!!!

Your line stats are alright, good enough to achieve stable sync. I doubt that the issue is at MTNL 's end. Did you give configuration 1 a try ?

Config 1 has been tried before so i directly tried Config 2 this time ...Will try it once again after a day ...since i am enjoying my router for a while before it goes down

Looks like I am a bit late lol Glad you got it working. If you had seen the blog posts for D-Link DSL 502T & Linksys WRT54G (wifi) or even the other makes/models mentioned there, you would have been able to do it too. Like I suspected & mentioned before your disconnection is not because of your equipment. Remember if your SNR margin goes below 10 you could have disconnections currently snr is a bit on the lower side also you have CRC errors ideally you should not have any CRC errors. You do have a line problem maybe just oxidized/corroded/dirty terminals either in your house or in the junction box in your building. I am saying all this assuming that you don’t have a parallel connection as that causes DC. Now that you have wifi running I hope you are using WPA2 security & a strong long password. You will find that too in my blog.

THANKS Socrates ,XYX2000 ,X720...and all others ...I do have a parallel connection but i use that for a telephone in other room...And for CRC errors is there any way i can handle it or i have to call MTNL people to change the terminal ?If you paste the link over here for WPA2 security ... i would be Obliged ... MTNL has been saying this for years on their site (It was there on the old site but not sure of the new site) that you should NOT have a parallel connection. The tel wire coming to your house should first come to your splitter & after that you can have your internal network for telephones. This is something you will have to do yourself thru your electrician as MTNL officials have told me that they don’t touch internal wiring as many customers who have concealed wires in their homes often blame their staff for paint coming off or fingerprints etc. But you could always ask your wireman to do this if you are on good relations (I am not suggesting bribing). Go to Socrates and have a look at the different models whose setup is given. ‘How to configure Linksys WRT54G wireless router’ has WPA2 & more mentioned there. For crc errors you will have to contact MTNL but for heaven’s sake don’t mention crc errors to the linesman/MTNL aunty etc just tell them you are getting disconnections (DC) but do that only after you sort out your wiring layout. If after bringing the tel wire first to your splitter you still have crc errors & or DC then write to DGM (Broadband) about it.
