Need some review of new BSNL Bharat Fiber FTTH Broadband Plans 777 / 1277

@arunkadambanattu Your initial installation charge for Kerala Vision was a bit steep, was your house quite far from the nearest fibre line? It included the cost of the ONT right?

I had to pay only Rs 1000 for installation and Rs 3000 for the ONT (they overcharged me for the ONT, but then I wasn't sure of compatibility etc then and needed it quick).

I got the connection around 5 months back and already have Keralavision broadband, so I don't need to spend any additional charges for bsnl connection. BSNL's first bill is around 3000rs because of the security deposit is also included. Monthly bill was 1495rs. I am using same modem provided by Keralavision so, there is no additional rent for modem. Keralavision charged me 9200rs for there connection and that includes 500 meter fiber cable charges, modem, wifi router and plan charges.

Are you using 100Mbps port or Gigabit port? Because in my case getting 12.9 to 13.5MBps constant speed on IDM

Unfortunately my current ONT, the AONT 100C only comes with 100 Mbps port and my plan is 150 Mbps/1.5 TB so I can't max out the connection. The lone vendor here doesn't support gigabit ONT yet.

@arun We can't use any ONT we want. It has to be compatible with the OLT. We have to find the OLT model number first and make an inquiry to the ONT supplier for models compatible with the particular OLT.

Netlink support almost all major olt chipsets, right?

Yeah it depends, some OLTs are very specific. Netlink appears to support most major OLTs and they are even both GPON and GEPON/EPON compatible.

I've heard Alphion OLTs are very specific and need a Alphion ONT itself but then I guess it varies and probably need more tests etc.
