Thank you so much for the reply. I am asking about vlan is because, bsnl guys told me that they are using vlan technology that's why there is no performance degradation in peak times also. Keralavision broadband plan is also active on my same fiber line. They have only username and password and there is some speed issues in evening time. So thats why I am asking about vlan

I am in office now. I will post screenshot in the evening. I am using Netlink modem and they have two lan ports. One I assigned for bsnl and the second one is for Keralavision. I tried there 100Mbps plan also, but in speedtest it shows maximum 92 to 94Mbps and its getting only on morning time. In the evening it degrades to 40 to 60Mbps maximum. Only Keralavision isp server in ookla website shows the actual speed and all other servers it shows only 12 to 16Mbps download and upload will cross 80Mbps. In the same line bsnl ftth shows 116Mbps download 120Mbps upload in almost all servers in ookla website

Sure, thanks @arunkadambanattu. Cool, yeah I use the same Netlink ONT.

Yeah, that indicates that their actual contention ratio is significantly high. They'd probably have relatively very small capacity for traffic leaving their network. BSNL's performance is way better, they just need to advertise it more and improve customer service.

I've connected to the gigabit port, although I am on the 50 Mbps plan so doesn't really affect much. I've actually tagged both voice and internet VLANs to the same port and use it in bridge mode, and configure the PPP auth and other things on my primary router.

How is bsnl ftth works through LCO? The main OLT situated in LCO office or BSNL office? I am asking because of the same OLT share for bsnl and Keralavision customers?

So the OLT is in the LCO office, the connectivity from BSNL to LCO office would be through a separate fiber (need not be based on GPON etc). I think BSNL gives them guidelines on what kind of OLT to use but then its upto to the LCO I believe.

The LCO can provide any number of services through the same OLT, in case of my LCO, they provide BSNL (Voice + Internet), Kerala Vision (TV and Internet) through the same fiber infrastructure.

Hei, guys, I am new on this forum and using BSNL's Bharat fiber 1277 plan. My place is Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district from Kerala. I got this connection through Keralavision cable operator and they have there on broadband plans also. Why my isp name shows Keysystems ltd instead of bsnl? Ip starts with 27.0.xx shows that name. is there any performance difference using static ip address? Keralavision's ftth does not have vlan. Is there any advantages using vlan in bsnl ftth technology?
When did you take the connection?
What amount did you pay as installation charge.. 🤔

I got the connection around 5 months back and already have Keralavision broadband, so I don't need to spend any additional charges for bsnl connection. BSNL's first bill is around 3000rs because of the security deposit is also included. Monthly bill was 1495rs. I am using same modem provided by Keralavision so, there is no additional rent for modem. Keralavision charged me 9200rs for there connection and that includes 500 meter fiber cable charges, modem, wifi router and plan charges.

I am extremely satisfied with BSNL Bharat Fiber 1277 plan and it is far better than Keralavision's 100Mbps plan. There is no speed difference in the evening and morning time. Always getting 116Mbps download and 120Mbps upload speedtest result in ookla and fast.com sites. I checked with Singapore, US servers and the results crossed over 100Mbps in download [Ping 50 to 210ms]. In IDM every download initially starts with 40MBps and gradually decrease to 13MBps.
