Hi guys we desperately need your help. Our house has a ground floor, first floor and a 3rd floor which is the roof. Our neighbours who have never been never been nice to us, have no manners and use bad words to people who are thrice their age have decided to demolish their entire house and construct some multi story house. Now I wanted to know what protection do we get from them as we really don’t have any kind of money to make any repairs in the house from their demolishment . Plus we have not got any assurance from them that they will repair our house and considering their past they are so mean we are not expecting anything from them either. Also the builder/contractor has not contacted us.My mother tried to approach them (neighbours) but they rudely replied back your house is not our responsibility and we don’t care.Kindly help out....as our sleep has been vanished and our is almost 40 yrs old house we really look forward to your help...

You can file a Police Complaint for Public Nuisance if they are continuing their construction work at odd hours like after 6pm or so. If their construction activity damages your property, you have every right to file a Police Complaint for that too, and claim damages for the same. Also, you may intimate the municipality to check if their construction is permitted or not.

You can legally ask for the damages if they damage your house. Go to the nearest corporation office & ask the details of the permission.

I have an idea.. "tit for tat"... i am serious... this will definitely work.Be bold and tell ur neighbour... "if u dont give written assurance right now.. then we will NOT DO ANYTHING right now. but we will wait for demolition of ur house... the day ur house demolishes... we will file a legal case in court and get a stay order... we will fight till supreme court... making sure that ur house does not get redeveloped for atleast 10 years... and make sure u stay out of ur house for 10 yrs... so we can atleast live peacefully for 10 yrs"and in the end.. say very calmly and with a very serious look... "hey go ahead...demolish ur house... we will be happy!"
