just wanted to say one thing here....
do not make it an ego thing. being a mod here is not a status symbol. i sort of get annoyed when i talk to folks who say that they are mods on chip/digit/xyz forums.
i mean, it's not a big deal right? you help me help you and other folks on the web.
the general purpose is to have a community with happy people.

@admin, Apart from these, why not have a thread as "Moderation Logs" where in a moderators log details like....if at all one has been banned, thread moved, reasons for the same. Is it feasible to follow this?
A member would find it easy to access the log and also know the reason for action taken against him or his posts.
from my own experience... it would be too much work. i mean i cannot expect them to mod and keep records.
if they want, they can start a thread. most actions can be updated in the respective thread itself.

what u expect moderators to do?
merge similar threads?
delete spam threads?
give warnings?
when can we edit the post by member?
1) if it has spelling mistake which can create confusion?
2) grammatical mistake which can cause confusion?
3) threat or offending lines?
i am not sure if moderators have those rights.. but just need to know if moderators do have right then under what circumstances the rights shud be exercised?

as for moderation rules... you make your own rules based on what the guys in your sections like. i mean you guys are already doing a great job of self moderation. i just want to ignore situations like socrates where he got annoyed with my actions on the forum.

oh its ok for me, if u wanted to make someone else as moderator. dont worry i wont feel bad.
this forum is just for fun and discussion abt events/technology for me.

i thought it was already public that he got annoyed by me and has largely disappeared from the forum? i am not taking names. i am just saying... i am giving up control. you guys have been asking for moderators for so long. now you are getting moderators. i would stop messing around in forums that are not of my interest. i would be sticking around airtel related forums and general forums.
