well its sounds good to see a Rs.99/- pack of Tata Sky in which they have tried to cover up some channels but do you think its worth paying 99 bucks for 2 movie ch (Max, star gold) 4-5 gec (star plus, Sony, sab ,star utsav start one) 1 news ch (ndtv) and no sports, no english or business news channel no english movie and english GEC channels no music. as it contains all fta and dd channels only apart from star and sony.
What you want in 99 Rs? All channels? :D

No he might want all the channels for free...........:hysterical:People take granted for any thing and expect to be at less and think that are big industrialist they can afford to go for losses any business would like to see the profits atleast some point of time. Dish TV is still running in losses may be 4-5 yrs in the industry,TS 2 years still in loss.........when will they generate revenue after we die:(...If we find DTH is costly then its better to avoid DTH and better stay with cable it self.........

the only solution is to offer all pay chnls at rs5 . so all will subscribe to it so DTH companies will have revenue from broadcasters.. and broadcasters will have total viewership and hence they can earn via adds.which is not happening. .. they classify sports and movie as premium and collect hefty amount per chnl.wats the us of charging 25rs per chnl if only few people are subscribing to it.. ?? rather it can be offered at 5rs standard so many will subscribe so the add revenue will increase for the chnls. there by they can earn money.this is wat happening in cell phones(limited rent.. lifetime validity, 10paise per call , night talk, unlimited CUG, mbl to mbl 30paise etc..) and banking sector ( free atm withdrawal across all atms by certain banks)even DTH has to adopt similar techniques to get more customers.other wise all DTH will run in Loss only, its waste to invest 4000RS for tv viewing by middle class people... they tend to stay with cable which offers all these for 150rs max. even after spendin 4000rs initially everymonth 250 to 350rs as monthly subscription will make DTH as Distant technology for Indian customers. It may work in US and UK and far east ,, but not for India. all the current DTH customers are Upper middle class and high class people who spend money since they have it more.earlier even in mobile technology operators charged for incoming and at that time it was not that popular.. slowly they made incoming free and there by it started to gloom and now even outgoing is free and major mobile operators are running in huge Profits..

Thats quite impossible my friend.Because, It will make the Free channels tend to Charge 5 Rs, Declaring themselves as Pay channels and Imagine will you Pay 300 Rs for 60 Channels....

The option is they should provide 20-30 QUALITY Channels as base pack for free[Region wise offer] and give other channels for 5 Rs. Then It will be perfect...

For ad free channels you pay rs.5 and none for channels which carry ads. plus administrative charges for the dth operator for providing the infrastructure. Most of the pay channels which are not revenue minus will drop out. How about this model?

Definetly a good model but definetly it will not be like by the broadcasters:@

At least they can provide a mix of channels like sports , english and hindi movies kids and others. may be 2-3 channels in all category. I think that make more sence and company will also afford it in 99 bucks.
