whenever i ask them about the multi-user thing they say their sales agent will tell me about it and he says the engineer will tell me when they come for installation
don't you have a different customer support than for new consumers, can you please ask and tell me?
Might I suggest that either:
[*]They are discouraged to tell people they can set up the connection for multiple users
[*]They are discouraged to tell people how to set up the connection for multiple users
[*]They have no idea how to do it

The main reason I say this is because by law ISPs are supposed to know the identities of everyone on the network. All in the name of terrorism and so forth but in my eyes it's just paranoia... not entirely unjustified, mind you, but a pain.
[Slight rant coming up, I apologize, feel free to ignore]
Unlike most of Europe, India does have some neighbours that do concern the world-community at large, but for the most part, considering most users in India are Indians and most Indians seem to like their country, the efforts (and money) spent on trying to restrict the 0.001% of people who might cause problems from causing problems in the first place, from my POV I'd say that the efforts are just badly focused.
Possibly what might be of concern wrt security might be fear of revolution - How will we [the government] control the people if they manage to get all this access to information? I know! Let's make accessing the medium as slow, inconvenient and expensive as possible, so that only 0.8% of the country can even think of affording it! And for those that can afford it, let's make sure we censor it as much as possible!
It's not just the net either, but it's always the same, and has been throughout history. Control access to information and you control the people by controlling their thoughts. You can't control the Indian population by force anymore... you know... democracy and modernization and all... us silly Westerners don't like it very much
