I appreciate what they are doing...When they launched the prototype version...Many people were really looking forward to the launch...But being a Indian based company...I would expect them to launch in India first and then create some hype here...before launching in US and other markets..But seriously....under 25k is the right target and hope it does not become an Olive Pad kinda story

Galaxy is certainly proving itself to be the iPad killer. Let's see what Notion Ink Adam is up to. But, as far as the tech spec goes, it's really strong, and will be running Android based OS, and it really does look promising, and am glad it's Made in INDIA :wewin:

It is an Android OS...But They have customized it to the maximum extent...The Mystery Feature might be the fact that it can accept calls...Not sure though

@SammNo offense, am also a huge ANDROID fan but I wonder how you are saying Galaxy Tab is proving to be an IPAD killer..Read across several sites that the Android OS is not tweaked for Tablets! Only if they release customize android for bigger screens and also release HD apps for the Tab I will agree that it is a hit!

sounds good but not happy that even though its made here the launch date is later than the US but then again i presume that coz there will be more buyer there tha here

@Admin

No offense, am also a huge ANDROID fan as you probably already know! :) but I wonder how you are saying Galaxy Tab is proving to be an IPAD killer..

It's not admin, but Samm. His avatar is what creates confusion :)

On what basis? Actually I have come across quite some people who are dumping the iPad for Galaxy, reason being functionality needless to say. Not all consumers are looking for HD. And my comment is just based on my personal opinion. BTW have you seen Blackberry tab?

Yeah understood that it is based on your personal opinion and I respect that!By functionality, what do you exactly mean? and may I ask what is extra in Galaxy Tab than iPAD in terms of FUNCTIONALITY. Please dont compare the OS' and hardware, you said solely functionality mind you..and I should've been more clear when I said HD.. By that I meant that all apps/games/utilities should look good on a bigger screen and not just enlarged/pixelated. and yeah even I just stated my opinion here..About blackberry tab --> Nope but I've heard about it.. whats so cool about the blackberry tab anyway ?

anyone planning to get this model... do not make the mistake.

this is a low end model made by an indian company manufactured by a chinese manufacturer.

the android build they are offering is not designed to be used on tablets.

google has officially stated that they are not currently supporting tablets with android.

android 3.0 (or 2.3) is likely to feature optimization for bigger screen devices.

and it is not clear how many existing tablet models would be able to run that optimized edition.

the best plan would be to wait for google approved tablet optimized android build to arrive in the market.

what you are currently getting is an ipad running the iPhone os.

android needs to get its own customized edition of the ipad os.

if you buy any of these devices, you are likely to have a dud product within a year.

blackberry playbook is coming next year.

and it is also not running the blackberry os 6. RIM has developed a totally different OS for it.
