What's up with Android 2.3...Only To Nexus S and Nexus One..??Also they have showcased Android 3.0 for Tablets...But Some say...Only Motorola's Tablet is capable of handling Android 3.0...This is not a good news for the Galaxy TabAnd I guess BB has done the right thing by not launching their Playbook this Year...They Can work on their Tablet and make sure it is capable of handling Android 3.0...So The Loosers will be All those companies that have launched Tablet this year...But The Biggies like Samsung ..Should find a way outAnd Yeah...Notion Ink...Adam is a Tablet that is coming in Too Late...May be if they would have launched by then it could have been successful...Adam reminds me of Tata Nano...Lol
I hope Adam will be a hit device . I have lots of hope in it . I am having hope because of Rohan , he has very good visionary and RIL is behind it .All the best Rohan , you will "Realize" your "Dream"

google nexus s would ship with android 2.3
google nexus one would get the update from google in the coming weeks. why? because it's a google branded phone.
other devices would receive their own updates from the makers of the phone. google is not responsible for customizing the android for all those devices. they only release the stock android build with the source code.
google showcased a prototype motorola tablet running an early build of android 3.0. samsung would most definitely want to get honeycomb on the galaxy tab whenever it is released.
it all depends upon the maker of the device whether they are going to work on releasing android 3.0 build for their tablets whenever it arrives.
let me say it again. google is not responsible for releasing android builds for devices that are sold by other companies. they just cater to the nexus branded devices.

That's a very pertinent observation considering the Playbook doesn't run Android at all.

heh. you have no idea on android fragmentation. Sony devices are/were stuck on android 1.6. sony has just started delivering 2.1 update to their smartphones. of course a lot of first generation android phones are too slow to handle 2.x series. and a lot of these phones are unlikely to get the official 2.3 and 3.0 updates because of the enhanced hardware requirements. google nexus one in fact does not support a feature that is required by the next google maps mobile edition! my phone is outdated within 8 months. at least it is getting the 2.3 update. not sure if it would get the android 3.0 build. i am planning to move to samsung Galaxy s if a friend comes to india from USA in the coming months. as for galaxy tab. samsung WOULD have to get android 3.0 on it otherwise they would have a lot of unhappy customers. htc and motorola did good by delaying their own tablets. they would launch theirs with android 3.0
