I know that every website's speed is different. but im talking about things like google search, gmail mail opening, even this website ... it used to open within 4 seconds .. and now .. its like 1.30 minutes waiting for the forum page to open .. or to read a new post. And as i said .. its only the browsing speeds .. downloads , torrents, skype works fine ...

try restarting your modem. that helps sometimes. maybe airtel is facing some routing issues in your region. still, i do not see anything that can be done if regular downloads are just fine. this forum's speed cannot really be taken as a parameter.

I did restart the modem a couple of times .. called the CC and they asked for the usual things like cleaning temp folder etc ... quoted this forum as an example .. but yes .. the Google search results and Gmail should be fast .. dont know whats happening ... i think i need some sleep .. and so does my system :)

Hey i will tell u the simple way ....

i think u use Windows open run command and type CMD

ping 208.67.222.222

if the responce time was above 400 ms change the DNS server... . . .

For u r Information the DNS server nothing to do with u r Download speed .....

For the more DNS servers read this

https://broadband.forum/bsnl-broadband/39049-dns-servers/ :readtherules:

There are lot of DNS servers listed ...

My kind request use 4.2.2.2 or open dnsservers those are the best i have ever seen in reliability and in latencty ...

gotta mention kanishka your signature is too cool and quite true .... hopefully there will be a day when microsoft would not exist and all of us would be running ubuntu with complete driver support.4.2.2.2 is dns server by whom ?

OPENDNS if you have noticed has started blocking sites which they feel host porn or provide proxy services. Even sites hosting images have been blocked.

Change your DNS to this to get around this blocking.
