If you haven't used it for international txn for long time before then better activate it via netbanking or app. Its a regulation by rbi that came recently.
Any typer if txn you not done for a long time will be blocked and one needs it to activate it.

any ideas regarding some fun stuff one can do with these free linux instances ...i guess enabling and accessing gui is not a possibility due to the limited compute?

Having a bit of an issue with oracle networking configuration.
I am trying to install pivpn + pihole on a vps. I chose my region as Frankfurt, Germany.

By default, the main network adapter (says en3 in ifconfig) starts in the 10.x.x.x subnet for private ip for the public subnet. Also assigned a fixed public ip to it.
I am installing pivpn PIVPN: Simplest way to setup a VPN with pihole.
Pivpn creates a virtual network interface called tun0 (for openvpn) or wg0 (for wireguard).
The installer makes this virtual interface in the 10.8.x.x subnet.
I think this is the reason its conflicting with routing or something else.
I have a similar setup in aws (eth0 is in 172.x.x.x subnet for private ip and tun0 gets 10.8.x.x and the whole setup was smooth)

I don't know much about networking but it would be nice if someone has any tips. Thanks!

Just want to confirm 2 basic things, have you configured the firewall of the VCN as by default only port 22 outgoing is enabled

Also most (all?) Linux distributions on oracle cloud also has internal firewall enabled for example you need to setup IPTABLES to enable incoming and outgoing traffic
Otherwise some configuration with IPTABLES is required

@Rehan Kumar I did make a new network security rule set, which had 22, 80, 443 and 1194 as incoming and outgoing to fully open.
I don't know if I need to set these on the vps(using IP tables) as well or just the network security rules automatically apply when starting an instance.
Don't know how to use IP tables if there is a routing issue.

iptables for Ubuntu are blank by default in AWS, not so for Oracle cloud infra. Try flushing iptables with
sudo iptables -F. I had to do that to get my wireguard working in OCI

Also I had to edit wireguard config manually as ens3 was entered twice for wg0

Better to flush iptables before installation of any software or changes to iptables that software (esp filtering ones) makes will be lost

I actually mentioned about this few pages ago in this thread, you also have to disable firewall on the instance itself
These commands should work, if you need to selectively enable particular traffic
iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT
or/and
iptables -P OUTPUT ACCEPT
or/and
iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT
iptables -F

Also there are 2 lifetime free instances per account

Speed is capped at 50 mbps in the smallest instance.
