Mumbai: Exactly two decades after selling its carbonated (or aerated) beverages to The Coca-Cola Co., Parle Agro Pvt. Ltd, which sells Frooti and Appy soft drinks, is re-entering the market with a coffee-flavoured carbonated beverage, Café Cuba, the company announced in a press conference on Tuesday. “We are excited to be creating a completely new category for the carbonated soft drinks segment and are proud to be the leaders when it comes to innovations and trends in this segment,” Prakash Chauhan, chairman and managing director of Parle Agro said. The beverage, a combination of roasted coffee beans with carbonated fizz, is a first-of-its kind product in the market, the company said. The product is currently available in a 250ml canned packaging which retails at Rs.20.

Parle Agro, better know for its popular mango drink Frooti, on Tuesday said it was re-entering the Rs. 15,000-crore Indian cola market after two decades with the launch Cafe Cuba - a coffee-flavoured carbonated drink.The company had sold its carbonated soft drinks brands Thums Up, Limca, Gold Spot and Citra, to Coca-Cola in 1993 and had also signed a non-compete agreement for 10 years.The company plans to roll out Cafe Cuba by January or February next year. It will be priced at Rs. 20 fora 250 ml can and Rs. 15 for 250 ml in a PET bottle. The product will also be available in 500 ml and 1litre.

So when is it expected to be available in stores? Jan/Feb is what I read from the article. But some people are already commenting that the taste is horrible :p
 
@Sushubh - Can you check what is happening with that link. When I edit & see it is looking ok. But now it seems to be misdirecting when I click on it (The Yahoo Finance link I posted)
 
What's happening? Iam pretty sure I saw this drink along with RC cola while on long trip to outskirts of city 2 months back.I specifically remember because I thought of buying this but went with RC cola instead :O
