Well, it goes back to the original point that when most people are earning around 3-4k per month - And all already stuck in all sort of loans & expessive costs like house, meds etc - Spending 30-40% of their monthly of income in one shot is unthinkable & hence they go for "cheaper" sounding $200 phone with $50-$60 monthly or more commitment plans.
 
of course. when getting into college means you are going to end up with a USD 100-300K loan... what can you expect! i guess this is why indians do well in the USA. they do not have a huge pile of education loan on their head. :|
 
Well my friend's friend who was in UK recently moved to USA........ He is a dental doctor I think........... He is going to take some exams or something after that...... He expect to make 2000$ every day :eek:
 
Hard to get phones in US without carrier logo unless they are factory unlocked, which would mean they would be sold at far higher prices.

apart from the iPhone which subsidized model in the usa does not feature the carrier logo? :D

iPhone too does, at the back I guess?
