i know about the rumored reports. i am just saying that an agreement is not possible. Apple has a huge ego. they are seeking absurd things. the things they have managed to patent in the last couple of years are absurd. This for example:

Another familiar entry is the '647 patent Apple slapped HTC with in 2010, which has a vague description but applies to clicking on a phone number in an email, for example, to call it.

You are talking about people for whom loans, living on credit comes naturally. They would probably faint at the thought of accumulating $600 or more at a single time just to buy a phone.

a friend of mine living in states... he is not by any mean rich. but even he makes more than 500 dollars per day on his IT job. do not really see the point of buying a phone on contract if prepaid plans or plans without a contract phone are really cheap compared to regular plans that includes a subsidized phone.

15000$ per month is actually a good pay , and you call him poor . Thats like 180k or more per year .Of course all boils down to the experience but it is still a good salary . Though i still agree There is no point Buying a Phone on contract .They can easily buy it outright by coughing up around 500$ (they already pay around 200$) , They live on credit and can afford to pay via credit cards , interest rate There is not that high .

I am talking about local folks, who have home loans, student loans, loans taken for expensive weddings and what not. And a lot of them in the 40-70k per annum range

Not rich? That income would place him between the top 94-97% of the people in the US.

Well some people arguing that though this outcome would affect innovation for a short time, on the long run will benefit the american customer as it would force other manufacturers to innovate other designs. Well i dont buy this argument..what do you want? A perfect circle shaped phone? or that weird design Nokia Ngage used to have?

:|

you mean to say that around 5% of people in america are poorer than him?
Nope. 5% are richer than him.

considering 99% of the wealth in america is owned by the 1% :D never mind. what i was trying to say that anyone who would want to own a capable smartphone like device would probably having a job that makes him enough money already. not including teens in this group of course. if you are living on coupons, i am not sure if it is a good idea to buy a smartphone in the first place!
