Samsung Pays Apple $1 Billion Sending 30 Trucks Full of 5 Cents Coins - Paperblog

If this is true, its ****ing amazing.

ZZZ ppl dont even know the common practices & start wondering weather these kinds of news articles are true or not... Any exchange of money over a couple of thousand dollars (especially in a court settlements) is almost always handled by the check being deposited to the court or if its given to the accuser directly then a court appointed lawyer is present with a lot of paperwork that has to be signed/completed...

Also these foolish articles almost imply that jury tampering took place... This is just a way to justify Samsung's loss by a Android fan... For Apple to jury tamper they would have had to bribe all the jury members & keep it quite(an almost impossible task), while for Samsung to jury tamper they would have needed just 1 jury member to vote negative on the 1Bil compensation(jury guilty verdicts have to be unanimous)... Anyway Jury Tampering is a very serious offense in the US & not something they take lightly...

Anyway read a few articles which have law experts saying that Samsung maybe able to get this 1bil amt reduced but it would be next to impossible for them to get the verdict reversed... So the likely outcome might be Samsung pays a smaller fine but many of its present products get banned in the US(s2,ace etc)...

a type of article that is becoming a rarity on the verge.

The myth of pinch-to-zoom: how a confused media gave Apple something it doesn't own | The Verge

they just showcased that Apple does not really own a patent on pinch to zoom. they just make it sound like it and media has started believing it.
Well the article does state then Apple does own a Pinch to zoom patent but most companies(google) are avoiding it my using their own methods to avoid these patents held by Apple... It should be noted that Apple did not actually use the pinch to zoom patent in any of its lawsuits... There might be a few reasons for this... 1st Apple would have thought that as Android is already using a diff way to implement P2Z & not the way Apple has patented so there is no way Apple can win on this front in court... 2ndly P2Z has become almost compulsory on every touch device... Suing on the basses of this patent could actually get the patent cancelled or inducted into FRAND... I believe Apple is keeping these essential patents more as a defensive tool rather than an offensive one... Just my point of view...

Yeah.... They are going to try and fight further. So, no way they could be saying this. But, I am enjoying these creative suggestions :D

i wonder how many of you have read this. it is sort of hard to believe but shows how the american consumer is reacting to the news. they do not really understand it properly so they make their own assumptions.
