you do realize that they are being forced by the RBI for this? Why would they kill their own business operations in India?

RBI does not like the idea of you getting paid in your PayPal account which you can use without getting that money in your bank account.

They are simply forcing you to accept smaller payments and MOVE them to your bank account so that the money is accoutable.

I guess they realized that even with PAN Card details, it is pretty hard for them to track all active PayPal accounts in the country. So, instead of fixing their own shit, they are just being lazy asses and forcing PayPal to become less useful.

These new stipulations are pretty harsh for folks like you and me. I would have to revert back to getting payments through checks which is awfully slow. and of course sort of risky largely because of our shitty postal system.

Yes I know they are being forced by RBI. Thanks to our corrupted politicians for this gift. Its because of the recent scam about their black money in swiss bank.

So is there any alternate you guys are using for Paypal?

@Admin

In Western Union we can only get money and we cannot send money with it in India.

Can someone please tell me whats the process to receive payments with Western Union ?

Thanks

India is getting little hectic for modern technology. So much policy, FUP, capping....We need a modern and straight forward policy and smart approach.

Lets not be too harsh on RBI.Paypal functions as a bank in European Union.Why cant it folllow the same here.The $500 cap has been brought about by paypal since it has to report transactions over $500 to the RBI.Inorder to make payments via paypal attach a credit card to it.

i have totally switched to making payments through my credit card. i am switching to checks for some payments i used to receive on Paypal.

Hi everyone here! :)I have received a payment (18 $) from a certain individual. I have signed up on paypal but have issues with verifying my account. During the verification process, it does not accept my canara bank Debit Card. I have only a few days left to claim the payment. Will anyone be kind enough to assist me with this? I'm a paypal newbie and have little to no idea of how to claim the 18 $ that I have received. God bless the forum. Sai Ram!

You can't add Debit cards on paypal specially of VISA. I have also tried the same but the problem is VBV which is not supported by paypal

thank you sangalaviral :) what other ways (other than using a credit card) are available to claim the payment? only a few days are left to claim it!

You can add an Indian Bank Account to your Paypal Account to withdraw funds if you don't want to use Credit Cards. Don't forget to add the "Purpose Code" also as per the new regulation.
