Ping Default Gateway Fail

Hi,I am in Home 500 plan and am using Telent ADSL 2120 modem.. Yesterday night suddenly my link light turned off.. After some time it becomes stable. But i could not access any site. When i run a diagnosis test in the router page..it shows PING DEFAULT GATEWAY - FAIL.. All other are passed..I have contacted the local exchange ..they said everything is working fine from their end. So it means is there any problem with my modem?

this means that u r not connected to default router of u r area ...... this generally happens ....... wait for few hours its going to be back ...
