I recently changed my BSNL BB plan from BBG FN Combo 500 to BB Home Combo ULF 900. According to BSNL website speed of BB Home Combo ULF 900 is 4Mbps. But my speed is still around 2Mbps. How can I increase my speed?
Call exchange and ask them to check the cap on your connection. It need to be changed to 4 Mbps. Since 4 Mbps is a new arrival most setting are still based on 2 Mbps. Also in your modem, check the upstream and downstream data rate. I am not sure, but read somewhere that it need to be increased to get 4 Mbps.
I have applied for a plan change from BBG FN500 to BBG UL900 online on 6-Oct-10. How long will it take to migrate to another plan? Also update us on the issue you have posted.

I applied for plan change on 24-09-2010. Plan change provisioned on 28-09-2010.
I will call exchange tomorrow. In my modem downstream data rate is 1999 Kbps and upstream data rate is 839 Kbps.
Hi,
did you get any response back from BSNL? Did the technician come to change to modem line rates to 4 Mbps? Or it was remotely done from the exchange? Could you please post your SNR margins while you were on the 2 Mbps connection and on the 4 Mbps connection, if you still recall? I applied for the same plan change and just curios how much margin will be sacrificed to get the higher speed.
Thanks
sorry, I am busy with my works. So I am not able to call exchange. Anyway for my surprise, speed decreased from 2Mbps to 256Kbps after 8GB. I think, I will wait till next month for register a complaint.
My plan is changed from upto 2Mbps(FN500 Combo) to 4Mbps(ULF900) plan.
SNR values have changed. Old SNR Downstream was around 23 and new one is around 17.
Even though new plan was provisioned, in Device Info was showing downstream rate is 2Mbps. Had to call exchange to upgrade the speed.
Speed is varying a lot. Getting around 1Mbps most of the time. Had to call their bangalore internet centre office to show them the issue. They said everything is fine at their end and SNR for my IP address is shown as 25 in their system.
I think becuase of line fault, i am getting lower & fluctuating speed.
