Sideloaded Apps - Its mostly a question of supported APIs - Is it a paid App? If not, you can either get the .apk and ask someone to convert into a .bar file(There are 100s of folks who are willing to do it for you on many forums) & have someone who has a playbook device test how it works. Many sideloaded apps work fine which run fine on Android 2.3. If interested I can share a couple of websites (once at home) which host converted versions of free Android Apps which are not available yet. Examples like Cricinfo, Times of India, Messengers, Mail, Browser Apps, Pdf readers etc & so on.Tapatalk, Dolphin Browser, Maxthon Browser, Paper Toss, Ebuddy, IM+, Taptu are just some of the Apps that are working fine and officially available.
@volcano - check about USB OTG on Android as well. Someone just mentioned that it doesnt work like an external storage OTG as well (Maybe only specific models, but suggest waiting for someone to clarify or google it)
