about lcd v/s plasma1. the view angle of lcd's (unlike what the review of mouthshut says, which is quite old) is 176 - 180 degrees. so dont buy plasma over lcd for view angle.2. the contrast ratio in a good plasma tv will be 100000:1 which is unheard of in lcd tv (the maximum i've seen in lcd tv's, is LG scarlet lcd tv's which give 50000:1)3. the burn-in problem in plasma is extinct in the new plasma tv's4. regarding life span of plasmas, lg has given life span of their plasma tv's as 100000 hours but we can expect it to work without any reduction in brightness till at least 60000 hours

where can I find a review for Sony KLV-26S400A from some users of it? I have searched the net but to no gain/vain/// :(

I think by the time we get HD in India it'll be time to get a new TV anyway. So buy an HD ready LCD 40". This will be worth the money.

but the current cable quality is so poor that it won't be pleasing to watch it on 40" with all the pixeleration!

Hello,
I am about to buy big screen tv soon, but stuck between the dilemma for plasma or LCD ? On tv mostly the needs of mine are movies and our TV channels which are still mpeg (I am using Dish TV). Not a gaming maniac. So what will suit my needs, plasma or LCD ? Also enlighten me if using Dish TV will give streched image on Full HDTV, considering the fact, that i would be opting for 40 or 42 inch. Also suggest the best brand at the moment, and your experience with Full HDTV.

Man i jus bought a 42inch LG frameless plasma tv...
and Let me tel u after a week long research

Plasma is better than LCD any day...
1.be it viewing angle.. as for lcd u shud be sittin rite infront of it
2.for large screens plasma is da best thin
3.cheaper than lcd for dat same size
4.motion blurr in lcd--- fast movin images can be better viewed in a plasma
5.better contrast ratio:thumbsup:

Unless you are goign to use your TV with a ps3/xbox360 and/or watch bluray disks on it, I would recommend neither. There are no HD channels in India (though reumours have been abound since the past 2 years), and there are no channels that are broadcast in widescreen format either. So necessarily, a LCD or PLASMA will give you a unclear picture, which is either stretched horizontally, or has black bars on either side (making buying a widescreen redundant).

Your best bet is to buy a 29" CRT TV and waiting till HD channels actually come to India to go the LCD / Plasma way.
