I am looking flat from behind, don't want that big bulgy hanging behind.:frown:I think crt tvs can be compared to optical cameras and lcs, plasma to digital. We know optical are always better.:p

:yahoo:
BTW which crt is good now if we have to buy.
I m thinking to buy.
Do your own research. I chose Panasonic after seeing all the options, but that was 3 years back - so go to shops and check it out.

Eh... sort of. But the thing is that digital cameras have progressed a lot, dare I say even better than or as good as optical ones.
And the problem is different. If HD signals were available (such as they are in the ps3) then LCD/Plasma is undoubtedly better than CRT. The problem is that HD channels don't exist in India yet.
My point is simply that one should not waste money now, and should hold out till HD channels come to India. Then it would be totally worth it to go LCD/Plasma or even OLED (hopefully that would be available then).

Sound advice. Do not invest in additional features you do not need or not available now. Any way, down the line, you will get all the required and extra features will be available within the extra money you want to spend.

Always match the spec with what you need now and likely to use within a month or so. Don't make long range plans.

I am now seriously thinking of delaying my pc and instead buying a good HD LCD for my computer.

Hi
I know this thread is old, but I was thinking of buying a new TV. Going to goto the sales which are around the city. I am going more towards LCD since, I want to hookup my computer, and have a PS2 that I want to Hook up to the TV. Planning to buy Xbox/PS3 also soon.
My question is I already have a Samsung 32 inches. CRT. I want to go for a higher screen size but everything in the adds in the newspapers is about 32 inches LCD/Plasma ( I had did some market research here after 32 inches there is 40 inches {Sony/Phillips}. and cost is like ~50,000 and for 32 its 29,000.

Can you give me any suggestions which one's to go for as in the company and weather to go for the higher screen size?

----------

Can someone help please, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I bought a Sony Bravia V-Series 40" Full HD TV in March for 80,000. You can go for it. Looks great with my PS3.

I went and saw the Tvs. The one they had for offer was Videocon. I am a little reluctant. Plus honestly I dont see any reason of buying 32 inches LCD when I have the same size CRT TV.

The one I liked was Samsung 40' contrast ratio - 50000:1 -
HDMI, USB2, I think the resolution was 1300 x something which is HD ready (which really doesnt matter because HD is not here anyway)
Price - 70000
It looked good on the DVD but kinna shabby on the DTH Airtel though.

They are giving it for 70
Also saw Sony Bravia 40' they are giving it for
S version for 70 000 and V version for 77000 the only difference is the USB2 which doesnt really matter because my PS2 plays DIVX and my PC will be connected to it.
But Bravia the contrast ration is 35000:1
Overall I am confused.
