Powerful Modem cum Router for Airtel.

I am looking for a powerful wide area coverage for my Airtel Xstream Broadband. Kindly suggest any modem cum router to give a wide area coverage for two floors each 1500 square feet.

Is your connection FTTH or VDSL? and what speed is your plan?

It is a 40 Mbps VDSL connection at Rs 499/-........ FTTH is not available in my area yet. I am looking for a powerful wireless router to cover two floors.

The TP-Link Archer A6/C6 is a good router. It has Gigabit support if you get a plan of more than 100Mbps in the future.

Use a wifi mesh. No single router can be adequate at some point in the future (for example, when you want to watch final overs of an IPL match from toilet). Better to start investing slowly into a mesh network. I'd recommend Mikrotik or Ubiquiti based mesh networks, depending on your budget. You'd save a lot of time by considering a mesh today.

Its harder to cover a bigger area. 1000sqft is fine. You won't be able to get good speeds on two floors in 1000sqft area with a single modem+router.
What is your budget?

Thanks for the reply . Actually I want to keep the setup simple so I would prefer the TP-Link Archer A6/C6 Router over the mesh.
Mesh Networks will be definitely better.
Will I need a separate modem for the above Router ? Kindly reply.
