Hi i am abhi, and i am on plan 500 , i am facing a very weird problem,i am not able to sort it out myself, i tried very hard finding on the net for the solution but everything went vain , when even i type my ip (which i can get visiting whatsmyip.com) it takes to my router page, actually this shouldn happen right ??this means any one can hack into my router,i was quite amazed to see this,i had heard this worked before two years or so,and many people got their id n pass hacked, i haven installed any servers like apache,or any other for which the 80 port to be open and there is no httpd services running, why am i being faced with such a problem?? please guide me , as am On nib2 , i forward the port in dmz host in router page ,{such as 192.16.1.3 (for me) }i came to know from a non indian forum ,which said that the port forwarding would help out, but i am already on it,and it doesnt work please guide me in sorting out my problem,i checked on my friends comp who is on same plan,but his seems to be fine.. please help me out,with regardsabhi

below i am posting my screen shots,, the two other network is my vmware network,,, which would be disabled all the time.. i think has nothing to do with this problem right.. sorry i may be wrong..

actually i wanted to use my comp as mini server so that my classmates can download files from me..
i had plans to provide database(mysql) access to my friends thru cgi-bin so that they can update information..
this would reduce the burden of updating their info by me.....
but due to this problem i haven been able set up a server yet, initially i thought server applications acted weird
but later realized it was the bsnl prob.
.even though i dont run them its the same...
plz help me out...

i am not running on any server applications, mine is freshly installed win xp sp3 now,i thought due to my installation of server applications ,some error would have occurred but, now its clean .. still the same prob.. yes my friend also get the dsl page, i tried from my friends who had airtel, still it shows..

Trying to host files on the internet? Do this...
1) Switch to "bridge mode" : All your ports are open in bridge mode and it works great for torrents to. Under PPPoE mode, you'll only end up on your modems page every time you type in your dynamic IP.
2) Download Wamp server from here Install PHP 5 Apache MySQL on Windows : WampServer
It's around 20mb and it won't take more than 1min to setup a server this app.
Now type in your dynamic IP in the browser tab and you'll see the contents of WWW folder placed in wamp setup folder.

If you type your Dynamic Ip address the modem
access page will open.
If you try a random Ip you will be asked to enter ID and PW.
Change your modem's user Id and PW.
