I'm using WIFI to connect.The bad news is my laptop still fails to recognize the modem!!! :SCheck the ipconfig output below:Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3A Mini PCI Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-0C-F1-5F-9B-38 Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.2 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Friday, May 29, 2009 7:12:54 PM Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Saturday, May 30, 2009 7:12:54 PMEthernet adapter Local Area Connection 4: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-11-43-47-83-C6Ethernet adapter {37C827CD-C909-4681-89E4-1C29D0C010CF}: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Nortel IPSECSHM Adapter - Packet Scheduler Miniport Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 44-45-53-54-42-00 Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :Ethernet adapter Network Connect Adapter: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Juniper Network Connect Virtual Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-FF-68-CD-91-86As you can see above, I've disabled the connection2(Cisco). I enabled the connection3 (Broadcom). Since I uninstalled & re-installed the driver it came up as Connection4 now.I do not know where this "Ethernet adapter {37C827CD-C909-4681-89E4-1C29D0C010CF}:" & "Ethernet adapter Network Connect Adapter:" is coming from. I cant see it under Network Connections window!So bottom line is wifi is the saving grace!
