holy cow. the laptop has been delivered already. the tracking page showed that i was on its way at around 10AM today. this was FAST.

they did not deliver the pen drive that i had also ordered. :(
 
use the old pen drive i use in the car!

download ubuntu right now. i had not even downloaded it because i thought i had enough time :D

man 10.1 inch is small. especially for me because i am using a 27" display on my desktop :o

It's really small for most of us and when you have 7 starter installed on it then it's like very lame :)Ubuntu should work just great considering your dad's usage.
 
Eyesight mhm.. might create some issues if your dad surfs internet quite often.I can understand, my eyesight is worse than you it's -2.* something.
 
well i have ordered Nokia bluetooth bh 106 from flipkart last night ,hope will be delivered just as ur netbook, urs is listed just as bluetooth, ie to be delivered in 5-7 days.:waiting:
 
something had to be there that does not work in ubuntu. heh.

this netbook has issues with brightness control. it simply does not work.

known issue with several netbook and laptop models. work around is using terminal commands to send instructions to the OS to change the brightness.

would have to play around. too bad it would probably be required to be done on every reboot.
 
I didn't have brightness control nor the battery indicator when I installed Ubuntu on my Laptop.Nice! Now you know why I don't like Ubuntu so damn much.
