I should have posted a laptop recommendation thread before making this purchase.
One of the prior importance was decent battery life, this is the reason I opted not to have a dedicated gfx card.
Anyways, I am testing it's battery now, I have taken screenshot of the battery a while ago, going to bump this thread, when it gets to 15%

about your query on PM..

well there is something called battery conditioning. it applies to all sort of batteries. even on mobile phones.

basically what you do is charge the phone fully and wait for it to nearly fully discharge. and then you charge fully.

you repeat this cycle for a couple of days.

this is supposed to help the battery in getting its full strength. all of these are speculative steps. in the end, you cannot control the degradation of the battery.

if a battery has to die, it would die. you cannot do much about it. the best would be to be prepared to buy a new battery in a year or two and do not be shocked by that eventuality.

most people do not think about the battery why they buy a laptop. my recommendation is always to go for the best capacity battery available.

and well. like mobile phones. replacing a battery is easier than struggling through the one-two year period trying to extend the battery. it just might not help you out. it might still die within a 2 year period. you might have just gained a couple of weeks worth of additional backup. is it worth all the hassle? no.

That's what I did on the very first use, I turned it on with the power cable plugged in,used it a bit while it was charging, when it was charged completely I removed the power and used it on backup, did the same for couple of times, right now, a friend told me that you gotta charge it for atleast 14 hours?Does that mean not using laptop on backup and keep the power cable plugged in for continuous 14 hours? It dosn't worth all that hassle, dimag kharab ho gaya eh!

hehe. well. ignore it. now that you cannot do anything about it. just follow the basic guidelines. do not charge unless the battery level is down to 40% or below.

It's just that he is getting 3 hours backup while doing the same amount of work that I do :ishock:How easy is it to ignore as my laptop is just 3 days old /facepalm/

hmm looks like something was wrong initially... backup I am getting now:Backup testing 5 April 201196% battery remaining- 11:15 AM68% battery remaining- 12:16 PM38% battery remaining- 01:16 PM
