Random DNS issues in BSNL Broadband

I am temporarily using a BSNL connection in NCR region.

I used the google dns settings in my router page and nslookup is able to resolve most urls. However while opening the site in the browser, there are sites which intermittently don't open. One of these sites is edgecastcdn which serves assets for web pages and so my sites appear without the images and CSS.

The frustrating part is that it is very random. The same site starts working after some time.

Anyone else faced this issue with BSNL?

Yup. Use a VPN. Ultrasurf or tunnel bear or hotspot shield etc.

Turns out the problem was not with the DNS server.

It was the MTU settings in the router. I reduced it to 1458 from 1492 and all sites are working perfectly now

No it was a problem with the MTU settings. reducing it fixed the issue
