Regarding BSNL Home 500 C plan

I am planning to buy a new Home 500 C Plan connection. I had searched through the entire forum but found a mixed response from the users, especially regarding the 2-8am free night unlimited download . Kindly suggests me. I will use this, connection casually for torrent downloads between 5am to 7.30 am. Will it possible to download 1GB data in that time.

if u get around 210kbps for ur torrent,thn it is possible to download 1 gb in between 5am to 7.30 am.

Yeah, mostly you can able to download 1 GB in the time gap you've mentioned.. But still 5 out of 10 times only.. The torrent should download @ atleast 100KBps constantly to get 1 GB in 2&half hours, which is practically not possible all time in torrents.

Thnxs:thumbsup:. Downloading torrents purely depends on the number of seeds and leeches and also on type of connection peers uses. I had also downloaded torrents for about 240 KBps ie approximately 700 MB data in one hour.Are u also using Home 500 C plan. If yes did u receive u r bill normally. or shocked to see the bill.Are u also using Home 500 C plan. If yes did u receive u r bill normally. or shocked to see the bill.

I am using Home 500C. Its purely depends on what u see & browse in day time..having 1536MB/month.. you are limited to use 50MB/day.. I am satisfied in what i have, cos i browse very less..If you want to take this connection take a resolution as:1) no online games2) no streaming videos3) at the max 2 hrs browsing/dayIf u can obey the above, u can take this plan... & as for night time, its ur capability.. U can use it to the MAX. :thumb:

Thnx for your suggestion. :thumbsup: I will use this connection wisely, my internet usage will be limited to checking mail , watching you tube videos and torrent download during happy hours(2am-8am). I will use bandwidth monitor program like Tautology bandwidth monitor to keep an eye on the Upper limit.

Plan: Home 500cMy usage page shows I used 306MB between 12am-2am on 18th Jan. But I never used this. According to DUMeter, only 2mb was used during this period (by me). All updating soft are turned off, and I have no other download accelerator// ... Only uTorrent which is scheduled to download between 2-8 only and is disabled at other times. My scheduler auto disconnects at 1.50 and connects at 2.15am. Why was this usage recorded? What can I do? My wireless is turned off, and The connection is not shared.

do you have a wifi network?? automatic windows update enabled?sometimes new portal shows wrong data as well, it happened to a friend of mine!!

hey , its a fantastic plan. I m using this plan since may 2008... and still nt got any reason to leave the plan.
just understand it hw low cost plan it is.
this home 500 c plan charge rs 500 per month. it include 175 free local landline calls+ the monthly compulsry Rs 50 landline phone charges. so clearly u r getting this plan in only Rs 275 (500-175-50=275)
nw talk abt the speed.... nd free download, for that nothing to worry... coz by night plan from 02 to 08 it unlimited downloading nd surfing.nd m getting a practically downloading speed of about 230kbps. which means downloading a 100 MB file in just 10 minutes :O:O:O so u can imagine that hw much u can download frm it.
roughly my laptop downloads about 36 GB to 57GB every month :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo: only in the happy hours(02 to 08 AM).
now stop worrying to wake up in night and download files. oye B Smart... just use Internet download manager/accelerator :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:software to schedule ur all downloads for particular time period. and use auto power-on and shut-down :thumb::thumb::thumb: to schedule ur computer start up and shut down automatically in night time. also make ur dialup connection setting to connect automatically.i.e.always dial the default connection. and uncheck the"prompt for user name and password".
just do little efforts only once nd enjoy every morning to see what ur pc has downloaded last night.
