AmazonBasic are removed.

This won't help consumer or the online sellers at all. Poor Decision.

Many of the products are being sold by other sellers(with few reviews, and at a high price compared to cloudtail , appario and others) Entire Amazon Pantry section has gone!! Plus many products having one day delivery have gone too and many prime fulfilled products have been replaced by some new ( non prime ) sellers. Another bad decision by govt to woo the local shop owners to vote! I personally don't have good opinions of local shops, and find it convenient to shop online+nice support which the local shops don't provide
 
Who would buy online now? We all used to buy online because of discounts.

No one cared to buy online Just because they want to pay with Debit Card or Netbanking.

Discounts were the attraction for online Shopping.

Poorest Decision.

This will make ecom industry die in India. Because most of those discounts were made avail because Amazon used to py from their pocket. (Paying some amount from their pocket to make products cheap and go on Discount).

If things get this messy. Surely Amazon will tie up their operations in India.

They were already in losses. And now with these rules, it's impossible to make any market.

Local Seller coming online to sell products will continue to sell on same price a they sell offline. Over that, Amazon will take their commission.

Over this easy returns won't be possible.

At the end of the day it will make products more costlier to buy online with no easy returns.

Appairio Retail, Cloud tail were the only sellers I used to buy from.

If they are not there, there is no Amazon for me.
 
Amazon never offered discount from their pockets for sure. They were able to sell at a lower price as they buy directly from manufacturers avoiding all the middle-men which drives up the prices in brick-and-mortar stores.

With this change, the Govt. is indirectly pushing up the prices as they want the unfair practices of these middle men to continue.
its true that the interests of small traders and retailers must be protected but before that these middle men must be eliminated from the economy.

The new rules will benefit the middle-men only. Neither the manufacturer nor the end retailer will profit.
 
You're totally speaking wrong. I get by your knowledge that you've done any sort of in-depth research on Amazon and just came with your new-user profile and writing this post. (Only 3 Messages History)

I've done a lot of in-depth research in Amazon's Business. Not just India. But since they were only selling Books in US.

They follow the same business model everywhere and recently only, Amazon came out of losses in US market. (Just for your information if you are not aware about that).

Amazon.com has always given discounts from their pockets multiple times in US markets. And, this is the same thing Amazon.in did in the India.

How can you justify the discount of 30-40%?

What do you think. When offline market was selling iPhone 5S for 45K. How come CloudTail was able to sell it for 30K?

Please, only contradict with me when you have stats within your hands.

Amazon India has always given share from their side to make the discounts possible. (Which was obviously made Online Shopping more good for the consumer, because at the end of the day, consumer wants best thing in cheapest price).

Looks like Amazon & Flipkart's PR department has hired a lot of people to swing public opinion to suit their agenda by posting carefully crafted lies all over the social media platforms, blogs and forums.

This new rules finally offer a level playing field for all. Unfair trade practices by biggies will come down. A lot of local businesses with better service quality will flourish.

I am very happy that govt got the spine to stand firm against the violations. I guess quite a lot of people are not understanding the significance of this move. The rules which are being implemented now were there from years. Govt just started enforcing it now. The bargain and deal hunters need not worry. You will get same products much faster and at reasonable prices from crores of small businesses now. Thanks to Reliance Industries Ltd (one cannot simply go against Mota Bhai and survive here in India!).
