R-ADAG to storm DTH market in March nextThe direct-to-home television market in India is all set to sizzle early next year, when the younger Ambani plans to launch Reliance-ADAG’s BIG DTH hoping to repeat the magic Reliance wrought on the mobile phone scene years ago. Industry sources say Reliance-ADAG executives are lobbying hard to get the government mandate conditional access system (CAS) in 55 cities, just in time for BIG DTH launch.

Yes. LCD Tvs free with a DTH connection is a good idea. Then everything needed to watch HDTV programming will be available with the customer. The only thing is - 15 million LCD tv sets is a HUGE order. Even at 10,000 rupees a piece, the Toshiba deal would be worth 15,000 crore rupees. Maybe they missed a decimal point.

I hope this will trigger a new idea among TS , DTV and SDReliance started the mobile phone revolution back in 2002 when we saw the price of phones crashing down. Will this do the same magic to LCD TVs in India?

i do not want to renew my zee connection later this month. i would sell the connection for around 1000 bucks.i hope airtel at least announces their launch date for the IPTV... Reliance is too far away.

@Sushubh,please do not hang in mid air. Do not rely on someone to launch a service, until they have done so. Remember what happened to those who were waiting for Sundirect. If you can live without TV for few months, then its well and good.

well yeah. i guess i would renew on a monthly basis. with mom and dad shifting here. i might retain the zee dish tv connection.provided they can fix my problem with the non functional remote today. if not... they can go die. :D
