Haven't tried the same. What I have tried is changing wan mac to my jio fiber mac and wan mode to ont to get ipv6 address via TP-Link XZ000-G3, but that too was almost at the end of my holidays so I reverted back to my original setup after trying the same. Won't be touching it again until next long holiday.

also can you share the ip address because he can't acces to the web interface and the wifi also disabled in the initial state only blue light blinking

If your friend hasn't activated it, only IP in extender firmware you can get is wan ip. Your friend can connect the extender to a router and check the router interface to see what IP the device gets and use the same to access its web ui.

You have to use ethernet cable. If you see any youtube video about any of the jio extenders, they all tell you to use ethernet cable for the first time. Reason is only the blue ethernet port works on extender firmware before activation.

i tried to install tailscale on it but i got this error
/etc/rc.common: line 21: /usr/sbin/tailscaled: not found
while doing opkg update leads to dead end, manually going to that link gives not found
also tried to install all the dependences but i could not find it according to the compatible target

I am using AirfiberMax(300 mbps plan) and have Jio A6 tower 600 metres away. Will it help in latency if I install 25 dBi antenna or even 30 dBi? Right now I am using 20 dBi antenna. I get around 12-13 ms ping when doing speed Test on ookla. just curious if it can be pushed even more to a single digit ping with a higher dBi antenna. Or upgrading the plan to 500mbps will have any affect?

Jio AirfiberMax uses Wifi 5GHz frequency. Once 6 GHz is unlocked for wifi, I think it will benefit ping/latency performances also. But that is in future.

Right now, if I install 25 dBi antenna(currently using 20 dbi), will it help in ping reduction? Any thoughts anyone?
