^ Set top box not installed yet....the set top guy was supposed to come and install it yesterday but then he called me and said i need to buy a plan first only then he will come install the Set top box.. so I am guessing he will come today.

Also I just received another SMS regarding activation of my Silver plan and it says there clearly that "bundled subscription to Paid apps for 3 months"

@Dhiraj - If u own the STB does it have option for video playback ( mkv,MP4 etc) or is it just files sharing only ?

@Nitin - really surprised nobody mentioned tht. Since it's a 4K STB I hope it has a good decoder to play even HEVC/x265 vids or am I sounding too farfetched ?

yes , you can infact play all the music, videos and photos stored in your phone on to TV via their JioHome app. See screenshot below.

When you open a media file , it gives you the option to play it on phone, TV or via STB.

you can infact download the JioHome app even without STB and read through the faq section. All major media files are supported.

You can also attach a external usb drive to the ONT or the STB and it’s contents can be played directly on the TV via the photos app in the STB. I tried attaching my external drive to STB and now the drive is not being recognised by my MAC :-(
