That’s completely your choice. If you are happy with 10 apps and unlimited speed, and are looking for saving some money (old silver plan is 849 if you recharge now, and it will cost 999 after sept 5th, but you get 1 app extra), you can recharge now. But if you need 11 apps, you will need to wait till they start selling the new plans. I think after 5th sept, all the old plans will be removed.

@Dhiraj Speed is limited, data is almost unlimited to use.

For your kind knowledge, under FREE 30 DAY TRIAL, they have written 10 paid OTT apps will be provided but if you look down and go by this plan/offer, you can see all 12 paid OTT apps logos there (earlier there were 10 only). Two different things for one plan. They are making changes constantly.
Same is applicable here. Nothing is clear till 5th.

Yes. Unlimited data and 150 mbps speed if you recharge with silver plan. I am pretty sure they will NOT give Amazon to old customers with silver plan who are automatically being upgraded to new tariff from sept 5th. But yeah , they keep changing things, so as never know. It’s a gamble that you will have to play.

Honestly, it seems stupid post-upgrade for users to end up with a 'Silver' or 'Gold' plan which is not really the same as the new Silver or Gold plans. Just unnecessary confusion which they could have avoided IMO.

2 queries:

1. I recently (1 week back) paid for a 1 year Silver plan. Now post upgrade if I think since I'm getting the Gold Plan speed so might as well get the proper Gold Plan with 11 instead of 10 OTT apps, will I be able to switch by paying the difference (calculated pro rata obviously)?

2. For users who are upgraded, what happens to all of our extra data vouchers ? Since the new plans have a 3300 GB/month limit, do the vouchers become completely useless, or will they still be applicable on top of the limit (seems unlikely TBH)?

Hello everyone,

I own a annual silver plan. Just today I received a msg from Jio that my plan will be upgraded to unlimited 150 Mbps with Upload = Download speed from 5th September.

But don't you think, those users who have opted for extra 200 GB on yearly subscription rather than the speaker or 2 months extra..would be at lose :D

Yes, Pls check the first post in this thread. I received a msg yesterday. I have 6 months Silver plan. Existing users are being upgraded but it seems the Plan is not an upgrade from Silver to Gold, only some of the benefits.

Your speed will be upgraded to 150 Mbps instead of 100 Mbps and you will get unlimited internet (3300 GB) instead of 400 GB per month. The OTT app subscriptions however will remain the same. No Amazon Prime or Netflix.
So you can call it a Gold plan without Amazon Prime subscription.
Thanks for all the info. Do you know about any 6 monthly option for these new plans?

There is no benefit to the old Silver plan users especially who paid for 3, 6 or 12 months. The users somehow will be at loss. There isn't much difference between 100 Mbps and 150 Mbps. Jio should have provided all 11 OTT app subscription instead of just 10, that's the true meaning of upgradation.

@aayush31 the old silver plans people have better deal than new Gold. speed/fup is same the only difference is Amazon prime. the price difference is 150*1.18 = ₹177. 177 per month is too much for Amazon Prime, which sells at ₹999/year anyway.
