Guyz,
I paid money yesterday, connection will be set up within 3 days, prefarably by Wednesday.

Which things should I keep in mind when d so called engineers will come at my house for installing WiMAX?

1. The dish should be set up on terrace or in the balcony?(In terrace it may have to withstand direct rain attack, In balcony it may get proper shelter but signal strength?)
2. What are the factors rssi and signal strength? How to check them?
What are their optimum levels?
3. I opted 999 plan(400kbps), is it 300kbps or 400kbps?
4. If I change to 750(4 gb, upto 2mbps) plan, will my speed increase?
Also is this plan safe? Beacuse I've heard that they charge exorbitantly in that plan.
5. What other things should I keep in mind for perfect user experience?:yahoo:

Well I have been using the Reliance Wimax connection for last 2 months under Plan 750. (upto 2MBPS, 4GB). So far I have no complaints. Download speed does varries from server to server (Site to Site). I get a minimum download of about 39 KBPS and Maximum i have recieved upto 140 KBPS. Usually it stay arround 40 KBPS. Also It kept on raining during these last two months couz of monsoon, however i didnt get any disconnects or slow down of speed. The only problem I am facing is that if i leave the laptop Ideal for about 2 hours or so, I gets disconnected and have to reconnect after entering the username and password. This is something which buggs me. Seems as if i am loosing the IP address from reliance Any help ?

well here is the solution to ur problems.... (i maybe late in seggesting but what the hell....)

bestsurfer has designed a client that keeps the connection active as long as ur pc is on.. here's the link

https://broadband.forum/reliance-broadband/32800-auto-refresh-login/

secondly... you can use an automatic dns updater (No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP) to link ur ever so changing ip address to an dns...

hope this is useful...

thanks for dns update weblink ....could you possibly explain step-by-step how to link this to the IP ?

hi sameer_64,

i'm actually too lazy to type the whole procedure. The website has a wonderful step-by-step guide to help setup the service right from the start. Select the free version as that will suffice our current requirements.

Let me know if there is any problems in following the guide and i'll personally look into the matter

regards,
vineeth
