Router not found error in My Wi-Fi in Airtel Thanks App

I have been using Airtel Xstream on a Huawei HG8145v5 router.

Recently I noticed I cannot access the router through the My Wi-Fi section in the Airtel Thanks app. It says router not found and asks to restart the modem and retry but that doesn’t help.

I have another connection in my other flat which has a Nokia 2425g router and I can access that very well.

Did you changed wifi name from router settings? It should be default like Airtel_wifi for app to work.

Yes. I did change that. But I have also changed it in my other flat where it works well.

Airtel app doesn't recognize wifi names without Airtel_ prefix and you cannot even remove it from airtel app. It can be removed from router directly only.

And how you are able to access your friends wifi settings from airtel app. AFAIK that wifi account should be connected to the mobile number of the airtel app from which you can manage its basic settings, plans.

@nikhilpai It happens from time to time don't know the reason for the issue.

May be it was a coincidence but removing Airtel_ prefix started this problem for me.

If possible op can try once changing wifi name and see if it helps.

This has been happening with me too. I'll try to fix this by resetting router.

Airtel prefix is not the root cause, my WiFi will work only if you are connected to the 2.5 GHz WiFi connection

Not working even on connecting with 2.5 GHz
