Router Restart Method or Tool for BSNL Happy Hours Working on Windows 7??

^^And that costs you bugs......Besides on BSNL you get 512 Kbps speed only for Rs. 1300, and not to forget download takes more time and your system has to be kept on for longer period of time,../

^^

I am sorry to say dexter but none of the modem restaring module is working for me, and I think the major reason is url to acess my Modem settings page is:- http://192.168.0.1
You have to help me out with this however I will be testing out the batch file method, lets see it wotks out../

I dont use any 3rd party tool to connect, disconnect or shutdown PC. All I use are just batch files and Windows Task Scheduler. This method has been working for me for the past few years. It worked flawlessly in Windows XP 64 and now with Windows 7 64 for the past 5 months.

I use bridge mode to connect to net.. in bridge mode it is very easy to schedule a connection ..I have created 3 batch files.. connect, disconnect and shutdown. I have named the dialup connection as BSNL. And also made sure that pc clock is in sync with BSNL server timings. Otherwise this whole exercise is kaput.

connect.bat - rasdial BSNL username passsword
disconnect.bat - rasdial BSNL /disconnect
Shutdown. bat - shutdown.exe -s -t 30

Shutdown.bat needs to be placed in SysWOW64 folder for 64bit win os or system32 if 32bit win os. Using Shutdown.bat is optional.

Then i use the Task Scheduler in Windows 7 to schedule. Windows Task scheduler works flawlessly and is better than the one in Windows XP.

Disconnect @ 1.59am
Connect @ 2.5am
Disconnect @ 7.55am
Shutdown @ 7.58am

I use the same Task Scheduler to schedule Peerblock/Utorrent/IDM to start at desired time during Happy Hours. :)

All the credit goes to Broadbandforum.in and its members. :)

This method is not working at all, I am at PPPoE mode, and get connected to internet automatically as soon as my modem is switched on.../

Goch, isnt there any way to reset Netgear Modem, in Windows 7x64 OS, OPERATING IN PPPoE mode?????????? I am fed up trying out all these methods, never got succesfull till now

As I said earlier in my post that this method works only in bridge mode and not in pppoe mode. why don't u try setting the modem in bridge mode..? bridge mode basically makes the modem/router work like a switch and all ports are pretty much naked. hope u have a good firewall like comodo and know how to use it.. :P

But I love the PPoE mode, as it completely removes the hassle of connecting to net via dialup everytime you put the modem on../
In PPPoE mode I Just switch on the modem, and zip zap zoom.... You are connected to net automatically./

PPPoE mode modem resetting in Windows 7 x64 (Netgear DG834)[/QUOTE

try this application:
BB Scheduler - BroadBand Scheduler

Damn, I hoped it would have worked... But it hasn`t

I downloaded v3.0 from their site (it had two setups in it one .msi and .exe file, but I cant discrimate which one is x64 and which one is x86, so I tried out both one after another with no success)

While trying out the software

I first used PPPoE Dialup Setting, my connection name is BSNL and I make sure to mention in the applicastion before hitting the start button... (i THINK .NET is preinstalled in Win 7)

Whenever the time arrives for start or stop and the execution triggers i was getting following error.:iomg:

Damn../

So I went ahead and used the Auto Dial Connection Settings, I am using my modem at Local Area connection 2, so selected that as well./
I got this error when

Wonder why??

I suppose among two right one for me is PPPoE dialup, correct me if I am wrong???

all it takes in windows 7 is just 2 clicks to start dialup...bridge mode absolutely solves all the problems involved in scheduling, port forwarding issues and also avoid billing problems incase of power spikes/other issues. In Bridge mode the modem will be on but u will not be connected.

There are things I can't force. I must adjust. There are times when the greatest change needed is a change of my viewpoint.

Of course there are ... Just that its a little different in ur case ... I m waiting to get your modem command contents ... Also, answer this, coz its really vague ... Did u enable telnet on Windows 7 ? Most reset mechanism work on telnet, so, u need to enable it first.
Also, since its 192.168.0.1 in ur case, its a little different . I have made this module, which has all probable commands in it. See if this works in ur case -

universal 0.1 x64.exe - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage

Before this, enable telnet -

Auto-connect Download scheduler

Let me know if this worked.

^^You mean Ticiking "Telnet Client" checkbox under Turn Window Feature On Off.. right,Yes I have done that.../adminAnd no the module given by doesnot resets the modem../
