What do you mean? the kernel in the earlier SS you posted was compiled on 11 December and this one was compiled on 26 December.

That SEP does not stand for september. It could maybe be the name of the machine on which it was compiled. Maybe the first one was compiled on machine no. 82 and second on 66? (just guessing) it has nothing to do with chronology.

In bright sunlight outside............ It's not easy to read screen. Is it a case with all kind of high end phones including one x HTC? Or am I just being unreasonable to the power of the sun and Note 2 as well??

Ambient light sensor take care of that by increasing brightness and screen back light, I haven't faced such till now in S2.
