Just updated my phone...navigation seems little smoother...screen seems much white...sound is much richer and loud...

Updated this afternoon before I left home.. Everything running fine for now.. Will do a factory reset after I get home later tonight.

Just updated to kitkat. There is a weird bug in this update. The display has receded by 1-2 pixels from the edge of the display. It is not edge-to-edge like before. Guys on xda have also reported this. Hope Samsung fixes it in an update. Rest all seems ok.
Google Earth is now installed by default. Previously when I tried to install via play store I got the message that this app is not available for my region. While if I installed the app manually then it would run fine.

The update to KitKat didn't bring anything new.. So now I'm thinking of rooting my Note II again and running CM11. I'm tired of all the bloatware and TouchWiz.

Anyone know if its possible to root and flash custom ROMs on the Note II without tripping KNOX? I don't have the time to do any research right now (too much work). Not that it really matters, I'll root my phone any ways, as my phone isn't under warranty anymore.

Battery life hasn't changed much for me.. But then maybe I need to get a new battery. I'm a heavy user and it's been a year and a half since I bought the device.

I basically never liked Touchwiz and that's why I had rooted and was running CM. Then went back to stock after the 4.3 update. Now Touchwiz and the Samsung bloatware is getting on my nerves again.

I also like beta testing a lot of stuff - tweaks, mods, ROMs... Its a lot morefun when your are rooted. :)

Yes you can root without tripping Knox. But as soon as you put a custom recovery, Bam! So basically Knox will be tripped in any decent rooting procedure(Root+recovery)

Are you thinking of stock CM 11 or a CM based ROM?

Official CM11.. Never liked any other CM based ROM. Tried several other CM and AOKP ROMs in the past. But always came back to stock CM.

I install CM then install only the mods/tweaks I want. Keeps it simple and I don't have anything I don't want.

Cool. Cause I was on AOSB, and development got halted. So was considering stock CM, PacMan and Slimkat.
CM+ GravityBox should do the trick...

Rooted and installed CM11 last weekend. Better battery life and performance than I've had in several months.

Plan for this weekend.. Switch to ART. Let's see how that goes.. :)
