no because you cannot use a lappie on the move. this is a device between a smartphone and a tablet. it is designed for creative people who love to take down notes on the move. a brilliant idea can originate anytime anywhere and having a device like that could turn out to be useful. of course the same thing can also be accomplished with a pen and paper. but i guess, this device is still better as it does more than what a pen and paper can do (audio notes for example) in addition to providing a tablet pc/smartphone experience too.

I just have 1 question - why cant i use Lappie on the move? Thats what it is made for!Rest all advantages are agreeable, but i didnt understand this thing.

you think you can use a laptop (or even a tablet) when you are walking on the road? or even when you are traveling on a public transport like a bus or a metro? i have seen people using tablets in trains but only when they are fully settled and there is less crowd around them.

Ah well, may be u r right then. I completely narrowed the view till what i face daily......Drop facility by employer & then Trains. But still, strictly from my perspective, i wont use the phone to do some complicated work, while walking on road, or while standing in a crowded bus/train. I wud still use it when i settle down.Cant afford to lose/damage this kind of gadget!!

that is the point. very few of us think about the larger prospective about devices that define a totally new category. i mean, i still do not think a tablet would be useful for me. but i see why they are so popular amongst the people and would continue to do well in the market. Galaxy note is going to sell as well as the galaxy s ii. it is a product designed for a very small customer base. and it would be priced for that customer base.

Then i wud have to just hope to be in that target category, to use it!! But 5 inch screen is huge! That is the first spec which caught my eye while going thru the details.

again. some people think 10 inch tablets are huge. others think 7 inch tablets are too small. practically speaking samsung is catering to every segment out there with models in all sizes available... 5/7/8/9/10!

Yeah 5 inch is huge, for a phone! After all it is labelled as Phone. Although the basic phone features are pushed way behind.U still have to hold that giant onto ur ears! :D But u wont find people doing that typical antiques - using their hand to cover their mouth, while talking!

this is not being marketed as a phone. it took me a while to realize that it was actually a phone. this is a brand new segment. this is not a Galaxy series device. this is not a tab series device. this is a note. something of a digital notepad. also... you really do not need to make/receive calls holding the phone. bluetooth devices have existed for a long time now. i really doubt people are going to use this as their primary device on a day to day basis. but if you are traveling, i guess, this would be a great temporary replacement for your phone.

Everything else being right, i didnt mean this narrow a meaning! :P I just meant that it wud be used as a phone - for calls & smses & internet!
