It's not bad to have an option to extend the storage. With iPhone, Apple gives an option to decide how much storage user wants. That's why they ship 64 GB model from day 1. And even with 16 GB model, they provide users 77% free storage with lesser bloat.Although I would say iPhone has been stuck on 64 GB for a while now. This year Apple increased iPad to 128 GB. This fall I wouldn't be surprised if they up the ante with iPhone as well. And I would gladly buy the 128 GB 5S.

Good for you.
55K for 64GB storage. When you can have 64GB storage on S4 for what? 10K less? That probably works better for me. (40K for the phone and around 5K for the memory card)

I am just stating the obvious. A question for you.
What would you buy? A 16GB iPhone with expandable storage support for 45K or a 64GB iPhone for 55K? Assuming you need 64GB storage on your iPhone?

As I have mentioned earlier in this thread, I am not a fan of external storage. Hence I always opt for maximum on board storage available.
And yes I utilize 64 GB on my 4S. I have around 4050 songs (33.8 GB), 1.1 GB of Video, 493 Photos & Camera (649 MB) & 277 apps. The apps like Asphalt 6,7 & NSF MW, Hot Pursuit, Shift, GTA III, Fifa 2013 etc occupy large amount of storage. So I have around 5.5 GB space left.
I keep changing the music albums frequently as I have around 18k songs in my iTunes library. As of now, I have stuck to the policy of maintaining number of songs to 4k only. 128 GB 5S could give me a little breather.
