It can't be a verbal warning as it displays below my avatar. I know only I can see it but Unfair warnings FTW.chromaniac said:It is just a verbal warning that would disappear in 30 days. Nothing more.
Not necessarily true. Samsung has established a brand name. Specs whores like us are still in minority. Most people in India still buy higher end Samsungs or iProducts only for perceived brand value or as a status symbol and that cannot be considered as informed decision. Few months back my neighbour, a 60 year old gentleman purchased a Note 3. He quickly started boasting how his Note 3 was the fastest phone ever produced. He also knew that I have LG G2 but he doesn't know the technicalities and the differences between chipsets used. Samsung is taking advantage of this fact. Exynos chipsets are cheaper to produce as they are homegrown compared to Snapdragon 800. So even if Samsung is saving considerable amounts of money, that benefit is not passed over to Indian customers.chromaniac said:If someone intentionally buys S5 for features he likes in the phone... He is making an informed decision similar to how a person buys an iPhone 5s at similarly outrageous prices.
To be specific, the graphics chip in Exynos variant is inferior and performs 10-20% slower than Adreno 330 found in S800 variant. There are also reports that the Exynos variant runs hotter which reduces battery performance. So when processor runs hot, the gpu down clocks and which results in even more degraded performance. Such problems are non existent in S800. The more deeper you dig, the more mud can be dug out. Just read the reviews of S5 on Flipkart. They are actually more informative and don't feel like unnecessary trolling.xerxes said:how is Exynos SoC inferior in any way to the Snapdragon? in terms of passing the benefits to the customer I guess no business house does that be it Apple or samesung. its profit that matters. and I don't think the products that they send in Indian are inferior sans the LTE part
Now that is irrelevant. If Samsung can license it for First world countries and still sell S5 at a profit, they can definitely do the same for India. Imagine a reverse scenario where Samsung is selling Exynos variant over in EU and US. They would be torn apart by review sites like theverge, anandtech, neowin, etc.xerxes said:another thing, isn't qualcomm playing the monopoly game and pricing/licensing its chipsets for a way higher profit?
