From the link you gave two things are important
But strangely his employer is shown as Google Inc ???? Even then I think we get to exicited about nothing. Its an achievement for that individual but for all of us to get our knickers into knots, makes me wonder if we seceretly suffer from an inferiority complex. Why do we have to look for an Indian connection in everybody & everything? Apart from the example above, remember the recent news reports of British PM's & royalty's 'Indian connection'. What I have said in post #2 still stands, wait & watch how oour media takes it forward :D
You are confused. Sundar Pichai is employed by Google Inc. ..not Nadella.

And Nadella is already the executive vice president of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group which is a rather high post in the company. :)

Yup you guys are right. I corrected my posts. :) He seems to be of Indian origin. Dont know why @itzmynet quoted about Sundar Pichai.

Vic Gundotra was a General Manager of Platform Evangelism at Microsoft before joining Google. Now he routinely mock his former employer. He heads the Google's social effort today.Sundar on the other hand has two of the world's most used products: Chrome and Android.

Frankly it makes no difference to us here at all, that is what I am saying in post 2 & 6 but when the media reports it as an ‘Indian’ then it makes a difference as we expect our media to report correctly but many are inexperienced & are given to what is known as ‘breathless reporting’ and would not know the fine difference between the two, (of which we see the visuals on tv but the same happens in the print media as well). We will even have very soon people differentiating on which region/religion/community sub-community/gotra etc etc. Shows how we think.

lol QED

Well he is indeed right. Microsoft might not be anywhere close to where they were back in the 90s and early 2000s but it is still something that our moms would have heard of.

I still dont know what difference it makes if he an indian or from indian origin, India never benefits from them!
It is both ways. They also perhaps never got benefited being in India, so they chose green pastures abroad, and now they are getting job which they well deserved.

I think it does benefit India as in they know more about the local market and hence can optimize their strategy for the Indian market.I mean think about Motorola. Punit Soni is from India. He is at a pretty senior post in the company. He knows how the Indian market operates. And I am sure he played a big role for Moto G plans for India like dual sim support etc...Microsoft India strategy might become a bit more realistic if Nadella is chosen  More affordable Windows and Office? Can happen :tongue:Of course, it's just too late for them.

Ok. This one is interesting. Latest rumors claim that Sundar Pichai is now in race for Microsoft CEO position.
